There is no denying the emotional and intellectual impact of the media
on every aspect of our culture.
There are those who do not trust their own convictions and see in every
contradictory image or story a threat which should be removed. There
are those who see all human expression as some kind of poetic movement
back to God.

On soap operas, situation comedies, adventure films, love stories,
whatever, if you look at them through the prism of poetry, you will find
unmistakable references to ancient traditional and Christian stories.
Behind the western, for example, there is the eternal struggle between
good and evil.

Do not let your heart be troubled if something appears on the surface
to run contrary to your beliefs. Behind the action there may be a
traditional figure who mirrors some human quality of Christ. Good will
triumph. Our hearts will know the truth.
